WordPress has changed the way companies create, manage and produce content online. Out of the box WordPress is fantastic for SEO. However, with that said the dynamic system allows you to install and tweak your SEO using WordPress Plugins. Due to the popularity of WordPress it’s at times hard to pick the right SEO plugin for you.

WordPress plugins will give you control over metadata, titles and descriptions when creating new content on your blog. Today I have compiled a list of the most popular SEO plugins for WordPress.

#1. WordPress SEO by Yoast

By far this is the most popular WordPress SEO Plugin. It’s used by some of the top bloggers in the blogosphere and has many positive reviews online. The software has a full set of features such as, snippets previews, page analysis, optimizing and inserting meta tags, breadcrumbs, link elements, XML sitemaps, RSS optimization, editing .htaccess and robots.txt file, import & export functionality, social integration, Google News SEO module amongst others.

#2. All In One SEO Pack

I personally use this Plugin on Blog Engage, it’s easy, customizable and was also the first one I found many years ago. All our guest bloggers seem to use it without issue or even training which works out great for me as I’m too busy to train guest bloggers on using SEO plugins. The All In One SEO plugins also includes Google Analytics, custom post types, canonical URLs, page navigation tuning links and has a built-in API to extend its features.

#3. SEO Ultimate

The SEO Ultimate seems to be an advanced SEO plugin for users looking for more than just basic SEO features and functionality. The plugin is packed with features for most advanced SEO bloggers including rich snippet creator, link mask generator, canonicalizer, 404 monitor, author highlighter, slug optimizer, permalink tweaker, amongst others.

With these three top powerhouse SEO plugins I don’t see any need to look any further. From the most basic, to advanced bloggers the solution for your blogs SEO is one of these three. As many of us know, we only need to do a small amount of SEO with WordPress. Google is a very intelligent company and without our help will naturally find and index our websites content.

WordPress is a powerful CMS and website development tool. SEO is a big part of it’s core purpose so adding SEO plugins is only needed if you want to customize specific elements of your posts to target specific traffic. Even though I use the All in one SEO pack I rarely edit the options or customize the post, in fact I do it less than 10% of the time and rank very well in the search engines.
